I sometimes feel as if my weight loss is a yo-yo. I have bounced back and forth so much within the past couple years and I’m frustrated. I’m tired of this game. I gained 1.4 pounds this week and can say that I tried to eat better this week, but that’s all I can say because I didn’t track my food like I should and I didn’t exercise once. I know…I know…what did I expect? Will I ever learn?
What can I do better this week?
- Track my food before putting it in my mouth!
- Stay within my calorie/point budget
- Walk for 30 minutes each day with my dogs.
- Exercise for 45 minutes three days this week
- Swim once
- Attend a Pilates class at the gym and a kickboxing class to see if I enjoy them.
Welcome to HYC! Don’t get discouraged, you are doing an awesome job! Look how far you’ve come. Sounds like you have some good goals. 🙂
Thanks MamaBearJune. It gets frustrating. I am ready to go this morning and succeed. Thanks for the support!
I try to to plan my meals for the day the night before so I know what points/calories will look like for the day when I get up. Also, it helps me focus because that way I can build a treat into the plan after dinner as my reward for doing well all day… it gives me something to work toward. I usually try to plan my day for a few points under my actual target, that way if I fudge a little along the way I have some leeway, and if I am super good and I don’t fudge then I can have a little extra dessert at the end of the day. I find though, that if I eat sugar too early in the day I crave it all the rest of the day, which is another good reason to make it an after dinner treat. When I lost a lot of weight after my older daughter was born this was how I did it… plan the night before, get as much exercise as I could find time for (which was not much at the time) and eat sugar only after dinner for a treat. Just some suggestions… hope they help… sounds like you have some reasonable goals… good luck! 🙂
Nora, Thank you for your comment. I usually do a plan for the week, but everything gets messed up as I progress through the week. Using your idea might make things easier to stick with. I will definitely try it and let you know how it goes. Thanks for the encouragement! 🙂
Just popping in to welcome you to the HYC! You are very inspiring…
Thanks for the note!
You’re absolutely right about the importance of exercising and journaling food. I need to be more diligent about those items also. Good goals for the week.
Thanks for the encouragement.

Thank you! Huggles back 🙂
Welcome to healthy you! I’ve been a member of this group for about a year now, and I gotta say, in addition to Weight Watchers, this is a great support network!
Isn’t journaling a pain? I hate writing things down in my food log >.<
In the end, I think it does help, but I have to badger myself Every Day to get it Done!
Thanks. I have the hardest time remembering to write things down. I’ve done good today. I have it on my iPhone so I try to stay consistent that way.
